Where strategy meets execution
Delivering measurable results across growth, governance and financial performance.
Our work focuses on the areas that most directly impact firm performance — delivered through hands-on, senior-led engagement.
01 - GROWTH & INTEGRATION
Growth is not the challenge. Managing it is.
Firms rarely struggle to identify growth opportunities. The difficulty is executing them in a way that delivers sustained value.
Whether through M&A, international expansion, or lateral hiring, the risk is rarely in the ambition. It is in the absence of the operational structure to support it - the alignment gaps, integration failures, and cultural friction that erode the value of growth before it is realised.
We work across three areas where integration is the determining factor.
M&A integration. The operational complexity of a firm combination is consistently underestimated. We provide hands-on integration support from announcement through to stable operation — covering partner retention, practice group alignment, client transition, and the cultural work of building a single firm from two.
International office establishment. Opening in a new jurisdiction requires more than hiring the right partner. We work with firms on the full set-up: operational and governance infrastructure, team building, financial frameworks, and the integration process that connects a new office to the wider firm from day one.
Lateral partner integration. Hiring well is only half the challenge. We support firms across the full lateral lifecycle - from business case and selection through to onboarding, client transition, and performance management.
WHAT THIS INVOLVES
M&A integration across operational, cultural, and commercial dimensions
International office establishment from planning through to live operation
Lateral partner hiring and full integration lifecycle management
Strategy implementation and fractional COO support during periods of growth or transition
WHAT WE CHANGE
Growth initiatives executed with clear structure, accountability and timelines
Lateral partners contributing revenue earlier and more consistently
New offices and M&A combinations retaining partners, clients, and value
Strategic investment translating into measurable, sustained outcomes
Most firms do not have a governance problem in the legal or regulatory or practice management sense. They have a practical one - decisions that are unclear, accountability that is shared to the point of being owned by no one, and leadership time absorbed by internal friction rather than firm performance.
We work with Managing Partners and leadership teams to understand how the firm is actually being run, identify where the practical structures are failing, and put in place the clarity and accountability that allows leadership to focus on what matters.
02 - GOVERNANCE & PRACTICE PERFORMANCE
Strategy fails without alignment.
In many firms, strategy exists - but not in practice. The gap between what leadership agrees in a room and what actually happens across the firm is where performance is lost.
WHAT THIS INVOLVES
Assessing how decisions are actually made and where clarity and accountability are missing
Identifying where leadership time is lost to internal friction rather than performance
Aligning partners around shared priorities and practical ways of working
Strategy development and implementation support
Practice management frameworks - the structures and disciplines that drive consistent firm performance
WHAT WE CHANGE
Clarity over who is responsible for what, and confidence that decisions will be made and held
Leadership time redirected from managing internal friction to driving performance
Partners aligned around a clear, shared direction
Stronger cross-practice collaboration and referral practices
A leadership team operating cohesively rather than as competing interests
03 -FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE
Most firms are leaving money on the table.
Profitability challenges in professional services are rarely about effort. They are about visibility, structure, and the discipline to act on what the numbers are telling you.
Without clear financial insight and consistent performance frameworks, firms cannot reliably understand where value is created and where it is quietly lost - in pricing decisions made without data, in working capital that drifts, in partners who underperform without consequence.
We work with Managing Partners and finance leadership to build the visibility, frameworks, and discipline that drive sustained financial improvement — including, where relevant, positioning firms for PE investment or transaction readiness.
WHAT THIS INVOLVES
Profitability analysis and margin improvement
Pricing strategy and commercial discipline
Working capital and lock-up management
Performance frameworks and management reporting
Financial modelling and PE or transaction readiness
WHAT WE CHANGE
Clear visibility of profitability drivers across the firm
Improved margins and consistent financial discipline
Better pricing outcomes and utilisation rates
Confident, data-driven decision-making at leadership level
HOW ENGAGEMENTS WORK
Engagements are shaped around the firm’s specific objectives - not a predefined service model. All work is senior-led, hands-on and execution-focused.
01
Focused project
A defined scope, clear objectives, and a senior lead accountable for delivery from the first conversation to the final outcome.
02
Ongoing advisory
A sustained relationship alongside leadership, providing consistent senior input across multiple priorities over time.
03
Fractional COO
Embedded operational leadership during periods of growth, transition, or significant change, without a full-time hire.
